Whether you’re looking to update your business signage or make structural repairs, grant funds are available to Guthrie Center businesses wishing to make themselves more visually appealing.

Main Street Guthrie Center Director Dana Buster says she was proud to help the Guthrie Activity Center receive a $70,000 Main Street Iowa Challenge Grant to fund facade improvements last fall, “That is a huge boon to our community to get that much money and in one swoop. So we would love to do it again if anybody has a project that they would like to apply for the challenge grant, they can just stop in at my office here on State Street and I’ll help them with the process.”

The application deadline is September 21st. Buster also reminds local businesses who are looking to do smaller improvement projects that they can apply for year round grants given by the Guthrie Center Area Economic Development Board.
