A regional mental health organization is bringing a free opportunity to Greene County that’s focused on how to positively diffuse a situation.
The Central Iowa Community Services (CICS) mental health region is offering a C-3 De-Escalation Training program next month. The six-hour course will provide tips and strategies to decrease stress and negative outcomes, improve safety for you as well as the general public, prevent mental health crises and decrease calls for 911 and law enforcement.
Part-one of the program takes place 9am-noon or 1-4pm on Tuesday, September 17th, with part-two the following Tuesday, September 24th with the same time frames. You must be present at both sessions to receive a certificate. The training will be at Greene County Medical Center.
You can contact Greene County Disabilities Services Coordinator Ellen Ritter to register. Her email is ellen.ritter@cicsmhds.org.
