Drought conditions remain about the same compared to last week in the Raccoon Valley Radio-listening area.

According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, all but the northwest portion of Guthrie County is regarded as abnormally dry, as well as the northern half of Adair County, and all of Dallas County. Abnormally dry is the lowest level of intensity in contrast to exceptional drought. Much of the northern and southern portions of the state have no reported drought conditions, while some of central and much of eastern Iowa is considered abnormally dry.
