Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders will be visiting Dallas County for the second time this year, this time promoting his campaign to become the next President of the United States at the Adel Sweet Corn Festival.

Sanders will appear this Saturday at the Adel Stage and Pavilion, located on the northwest corner of the intersection of 10th and Main streets, where he will discuss his platform and take questions from the public. Attendees are encouraged to gather at 3:30 p.m., with Sanders scheduled to take the stage at 4. There is no cost to attend the event, though the public is encouraged to RSVP. Sanders is so far one of 10 candidates to visit Dallas County prior to the upcoming Iowa Caucuses. He’s also the first to visit the County more than once, having previously hosted a town hall at the McCreary Community Building in Perry on May 4th.

Twenty-five individuals, including Sanders, are currently vying for the Democratic Presidential nomination in next year’s primaries, with the winner running against incumbent Republican President Donald Trump in the 2020 general election. Other candidates who have already visited Dallas County include: former Texas Congressman Beto O’Rourke, Southbend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttegieg, and Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar, who each visited Adel; former Maryland Congressman John Delaney, former Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper, and Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, who stopped in Perry; Hawaii Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard and California Businessman Andrew Yang, who attended the Dallas County Democrats annual fundraiser in Adel; and New Jersey Senator Cory Booker, who visited Waukee.
