The Perry City Council will convene Monday evening in regular session.
The first action item on the agenda is a resolution establishing fees for septic discharge at the water pollution control facility. The fee increase will be effective September 1st, and will be raised further in 2020. Next, the Council will consider a professional service agreement with Ethos Design Group for phase one of the facility improvement project for the McCreary Community Building. Also in old business, they will approve pay requests for the airport hangar project and 16th Street overlay and Wiese Park crack sealing projects.
In new business, the Council will set three public hearings for August 19th to discuss items related to the proposed expansion of Progressive Foundry. The first hearing will be to rezone the parcels occupied by the Foundry and Wiese Industries from heavy industrial to central heavy industrial. The second will be to change a specific portion of the property from heavy industrial to residential duplex. The third hearing is regarding the vacation of portions of 2nd, Bateman, and Rawson streets for the project. The City reminds residents that no decisions will be made at the meeting, as these items are only to set the public hearings.
Other items on the agenda include: accepting a grant agreement with the Federal Aviation Administration for land acquisition related to the airport runway extension; a reappointment to the Planning and Zoning Commission; approving the consultant scope of service for the 2020 asphalt overlay project; and setting public hearings for September 3rd to discuss an amendment to the City’s Urban Renewal Plan, and a development agreement with Perry Economic Development.
