The Dallas County Board of Supervisors will convene twice Tuesday for regular and joint meetings.
The morning session will start with continued discussion and possible action regarding updates to the employee handbook, as well as consideration of payroll change notices. Following that, the Supervisors will recognize the Chinese Association of Iowa, who will attend the meeting as part of their yearly educational tour. Next, the Board will consider the 18th pay application for the law enforcement center construction, with payments made to eight different contractors. They will also consider a contract for inmate meals.
The Supervisors will then consider four change orders for the courthouse renovation project, for which phase two is nearly complete. That will be followed by three items related to the Secondary Roads Department, including: a plan and proposal to relocate the Engineer’s Office to the central maintenance facility; discussion of the process for disposal of vacated storage sheds; and an overall roads update. Other items on the agenda include: a project to renovate the Human Services Campus bus barn into a classroom; an appointment to the Planning and Zoning Commission; discussion on Homecare Services; and proposed amendments to chapter 45 of the County zoning ordinance.
The regular meeting will conclude with a possible closed session to discuss pending litigation. The Board will then reconvene that evening for a special joint meeting with the Dallas County Conservation Board. The morning session will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Board of Supervisors meeting room in downtown Adel. The joint session will be at 5:30 p.m. at the Kuehn Conservation Area near Earlham.
