AC/GC Volleyball camp gets underway on Monday, August 5th. The Chargers are coming off of a 21-10, 2018 campaign, which saw their season end in the regional semifinals with a loss to Tri-Center Neola, an eventual state tournament qualifier. The 21-win campaign was the second consecutive 21-win season in AC/GC’s 3-year history.
The Chargers do have some production to replace with the graduation of Savana Fuller, Jadeyn Carrick, Genivieve Hoover and Sloss Samantha. Fuller and Carrick lead the team in blocks and Hoover was second on the team in digs, averaging almost 3 digs per set.
However, there is quite a bit of young talent returning. Sophomore Chloe Largent looks to build off her sensational freshman campaign, where she registered 348 kills, ranking 14th in Class 2A. The Chargers also return their second leader in kills with senior Olivia Laabs, who had 165 kills in 2018.
The Chargers open the season at the WCAC Varsity Jam at Woodward-Granger on August 22nd.
