A scholarship fundraiser honoring a deceased West Central Valley teacher and coach is about a month away with hopes to repeat the success of its inaugural event.
Coed adult teams can register for the 2019 Jeff Pease Flag Football Classic which will take place on Saturday August 31st at the West Central Valley High School football field. This double elimination, eight team tournament raises funds for the Jeff Pease Memorial Fund, which celebrates Pease’s legacy as a teacher, coach, and community leader with scholarships given to West Central Valley seniors. Organizer Tom Stiles reflects on their previous year’s achievements, “You know going in and having the inaugural Jeff Pease Flag Football Classic, we weren’t quite sure what to expect but it was a real great success. We raised over $7,000 and that allowed us to award seven $1,000 scholarships at the 2019 Senior Awards Night. So we were really happy with how everything turned out last year.”
Teams of up to 12 people can register online and find more information on the event by visiting this story at raccoonvalleyradio.com. (https://www.jeffpeaseflagfootballclassic.com/)
