The time has arrived for the annual Highway 141 Garage Sale, with many of the stops located within the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area.
This is the 17th year for the sale, which encompasses 22 towns along the 177 miles of the highway. Starting in Grimes and running all the way to Sloan near the Nebraska border, the Highway 141 Garage Sale has been a popular destination for pickers of all sorts during the first weekend of August. Participating cities in Dallas and Guthrie counties include Granger, Woodward, Bouton, Perry, Dawson, Jamaica, Bagley, and Bayard, and there will be several sales at each location. In Perry alone, there are around 25 individual garage sales in and around the City.
Items that can be found throughout the route include: clothing for adults and kids; toys and collectibles; furniture, electronics, and appliances; outdoor camping items; assorted knick-knacks; and more. There will also be several locations that will sell food and drinks. The Highway 141 Garage Sale is this Friday and Saturday, starting at 8 a.m. each day, though hours may vary depending on location. During the sale, local law enforcement reminds motorists to be on the lookout for pedestrians along the highway and vehicles getting on and off the road frequently.
