The Adel Public Library was recently recognized by the State of Iowa for the work they’ve been doing, once again earning accreditation for their efforts.
The library met the requirements for accreditation from the State Library of Iowa through their public library standards program. In order to achieve the status, a library must demonstrate an ongoing local commitment to high quality services, funding, staffing, governance, public relations, access, facilities, and collection. The Adel Library is one of 377 accredited out of the total 543 libraries across the state. The status will last through June 30, 2022, and during that time the library will receive a higher rate of compensation through the “Enrich Iowa” program of the State Library.
