A reminder, the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn varsity baseball team will begin their State Tournament journey on Tuesday, and you can catch all the action on Raccoon Valley Radio.

The Tigers upended Harlan 3-1 on their opponent’s field last Thursday, earning them at least one game at Principal Park in Des Moines this week. ADM enters the tournament as the 8th seed with a 13-17 record, and they will take on top-seeded Cedar Rapids – Xavier in the opening round. The game will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, and it will be broadcast live on 107.9 KKRF, the Raccoon Valley Radio mobile app, and on RaccoonValleyRadio.com. The Tigers Cinderella story run to the State Tournament included consecutive road victories over top 10-ranked opponents Dallas Center-Grimes and Harlan, and to advance any farther they’ll need to upset the number one-ranked Saints of Xavier.

If ADM wins their opening round game, they would play the winner of the 4-5 game between Marion and Sioux City – Bishop Heelan in the semifinals on Friday. Another victory would then send the Tigers to the championship game on Saturday. Should they win the whole thing, it would be ADM’s first State Baseball Championship in the school’s history. Also by finishing at 16-17 they would be the first team ever to win a baseball title in Iowa with a losing record. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you each of the Tigers’ games during their postseason run.
