A local daycare center is bringing some old fashioned entertainment to Guthrie Center to raise funds for their security improvements.
Culpepper & Merriweather Circus is holding shows on Thursday, August 8th at the Guthrie County Fairgrounds at 5 and 7:30 p.m. The show will include prancing ponies, unicyclists, tightrope walkers, live animals, and more. Circus enthusiasts can come to the fairgrounds to witness the raising of the Big Top from 9:30-10 a.m. and then stick around for a free tour of the circus grounds. Tickets for the shows are $12 for adults, $7 for those 65 and older and 2-12 years old, and those under 2 are free. You can purchase tickets in advance at Guthrie County State Bank and Hometown Foods in Guthrie Center and Panora, and Adair City Hall. Proceeds will go towards the final expenses for security improvements at the Kid Zone Early Learning Center, which has also received a grant from the 10 Squared Women of Guthrie County.
