A house fire in rural Perry Friday afternoon brought firefighters from four different agencies to provide mutual aid.
According to the Minburn Fire Department, just after 2 p.m. they received a report of a structure fire at 17998 K Trail, which is located just inside their district. When they arrived on scene, there was smoke billowing from the top floor of the structure, though the flames were reportedly small. Water tanker aid was requested, and the fire departments from Perry, Adel, and Dallas Center responded. The Bouton Fire Department was also paged, though they were disregarded prior to arriving. Fire crews were able to control the blaze quickly and keep the damage to a minimum. No one was injured, and the damage was contained to the upper level of the house.
The initial investigation of the fire indicated it was caused by some sort of electrical malfunction, though the exact cause is currently undetermined. The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office and Emergency Medical Services also responded to the incident. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
