A Guthrie Center teenager was cited for failure to maintain control after leaving the roadway and striking several road signs Tuesday night.

According to the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office, 16-year-old Ryan Andrew Fees was driving a Chevrolet S10 truck northbound on White Pole Road north of Adair at about 11:55 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve and left the road to the left. Fees’ truck hit two curve signs and then reentered the highway, crossing both lanes of traffic and leaving the roadway to the right, striking another sign. Fees left the scene and did not report the incident until Wednesday morning. Estimated damage from the incident totals $1,000.
