If you’ve visited downtown Panora in the last few months you may have noticed a new outdoor attraction near the Panora Public Library.
The Library Foundation installed their first-ever “Music Park” south of the library for those young and old to make some sounds and enjoy the downtown square. The Library Foundation is celebrating this installation with an ice cream social tomorrow from 5-7 p.m., coinciding with the weekly farmers’ market. Foundation Board Member Dave Grove originally pitched the idea for the park after seeing one in Okoboji, and he gives credit to the community members who made it possible, “A big thank you to the McLuen family, Jim and Joyce McLuen, that have made very meaningful gifts to several organizations in our community and in Des Moines and the surrounding areas. So they were one of our big donors to the Foundation, but we’ve also had several others that have given some just wonderful gifts to our library, which I’m sure there will be more additions and services and things to offer in the future.”
Panora and surrounding residents are invited to check out the music park, enjoy a free ice cream cone, and interact with neighbors.
