The City of Adel is seeking to become recognized as a “Home Base Community,” and they’re looking for help in making their case.

Home Base Iowa (HBI) communities are those that have committed to welcome transitioning military members and their families to civilian life. The HBI initiative designates cities as centers of opportunity and highlights the statewide commitment to employing veterans. In order for a city like Adel to become a “Home Base Community,” the local businesses are encouraged to hire veterans whenever the chance arises and to register themselves as an HBI partner.

Businesses and communities that are recognized by the HBI initiative are able to access veteran profiles and resumes online, provide potential job seekers with veteran-specific information and opportunities, and receive information to assist in finding and hiring veterans.
