Yesterday we heard from new Greene County School District Activities Director Todd Gordon talking about the Ram softball season. Today, he talks Ram baseball. Coach John Hupp’s Rams went 10-23 and pulled an upset in the first round of Class 3A District 4 baseball last Friday with a 2-1 victory over number 8 Gilbert at Gilbert.

The A.D. started his official duties on July 1, so he caught the last three weeks of the season. “Baseball ended the regular season a little bit rocky (losing 7 of their last 8 regular season games), but then to respond three days later with a phenomenal win over a ranked Gilbert team was really, really impressive. The pitching performance, the defense, the timely hitting, all made for a great night of baseball.”

Summer sports have ended for the Rams. August 12 is the first official practice day for all Fall high school sports in Iowa, but the various sports will have camps prior to the first official practice date.
