The City of Adel is still seeking an individual to serve on the Public Library Board, after receiving no applicants at a recent City Council meeting.
There is an opening on the board due to a resignation, and the City initially sought volunteers to fill the vacancy at the beginning of July. However, since no one submitted an application at that time, the Council extended the search for another month. Interested individuals must apply by Friday, August 9th in order to be included in the agenda for consideration at the regular Council meeting on Tuesday, August 13th. However, applications will be accepted after that day. The term runs until July 1, 2024, and there is no gender balance requirement to fill the seat.
The Library Board sets policy and oversees the operation of the Adel Public Library. They meet the first Tuesday of each month at 5 p.m. in the library’s board room. Applicants are asked to commit to attend at least 80% of the meetings each year. Anyone interested in joining the Adel Library Board can fill out an application on the City’s website or stop into City Hall. A link to the online application can be found below.
