The Adair County Fair wrapped up five days of 4-H and FFA shows, free activities, and other fun in Greenfield.

At the heart of the fair is 4-H, and this year’s recipients of the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame award were Gary and Karen Schulteis. They will be celebrated alongside other honorees from across Iowa at the state fair this August. A tradition for the Adair County Fair is the Little Miss and Mister contest, which went to Hayden Griffith and Xavier Rubio, respectively. Jill Wallace was crowned the fair queen and she had this to say to future contestants, “To anybody who plans to run for fair queen, I say ‘Do it.’ It’s an amazing experience. It’s something that teaches you more about people and you definitely get a great experience out of it.”

U.S. Representative Cindy Axne (D) also visited the fair yesterday. Raccoon Valley Radio took part in the fun, broadcasting live each day from the Big Red Radio at the fairgrounds. For further coverage of the fair, visit the Adair County Fair Page.
