A fire at Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Jefferson resulted in no injuries and minor damage Saturday afternoon.
The Greene County Sheriff’s office, Jefferson Fire Department and Greene County Ambulance responded to the fire. Fire Chief Jack Williams tells Raccoon Valley Radio it was an electrical fire in one of the casino’s electrical rooms.
Wild Rose Manager Travis Dvorak says the cause of the fire was due to a power surge from a power outage in Jefferson, which caught one of their relays on fire. Dvorak points out that the casino security team was quick to react and put out the fire, with the assistance of the Jefferson Fire Department. He notes that there was minor damage to the relay boxes and no one was hurt in the incident. Williams adds there was no smoke or water damage. Dvorak thanks the Jefferson Fire Department for their quick response and making sure the situation was under control.
