The 11th annual Guthrie’s River Ruckus is happening next weekend, with thousands of country music fans expected to come to Guthrie Center.
River Ruckus Co-founder Grant Sheeder expects about 10,000 attendees Friday night and possibly 12,000 Saturday night.
Sheeder says one of the appealing factors of the festival is the location of the Guthrie County Fairgrounds, and one of the improvements made this year was to the shower houses, “We’ve got new showers, on demand hot water heaters, some new lights, some exhaust fans, all new toilets, sinks, it doesn’t sound like it cost a lot but gosh we put pen to paper (for) it, it adds up real quick. So yeah we did both of those shower houses and there will be a shower house unit on site that’ll come in like they have been in recent years, so we won’t overload those but they will be nicer when they are used.”
This year’s headliner is Chris Cagle, a returning Ruckus performer and has claimed to be coming out of retirement for this one final show. For more information on the festival, visit here.
