With the Perry Public Library’s adult summer reading program winding down, participants can start getting excited for the upcoming finale.
Library Director Mary Murphy says the party will be held on Monday, July 29th at 6:30 p.m. at the library, and the theme will be “Game Night.” There will be a wide assortment of board games and other activities, including Monopoly, Clue, and Scattergories, and Murphy promises that the highly-competitive game players will be grouped together so the others can keep their games more casual. Refreshments will also be provided at the free event, and grand prizes will be drawn for the summer reading participants.
Murphy says this was a big year for the adult program, and she’s hoping to capture that momentum and carry it into next year. “Something that was really interesting: we had higher than regular registration for adult summer reading. So that’s kind of promising, it’s been fantastic! It’s gone down the last couple years, but now it sprang back up. So I’m going to have to do some asking, surveying people, ‘Why did you come back?’”
No registration is required to attend the finale party, though summer reading participants don’t have to be present to win a grand prize.
