Nick Weinmeister just finished his first season as the Head Coach of the West Central Valley Baseball program.
WCV entered Saturday night’s District game with Mount Ayr as the clear underdog. Mount Ayr was 13-5, and West Central Valley was just 4-25 on the season.
However, that record went out the window as the Wildcats left everything they had out on the field on Saturday in Panora. WCV Baseball put together one of its best complete game performances in the postseason action and nearly pulled off one of the biggest, colossal upsets of the season over Mount Ayr.
The Wildcats came up short in 10 innings, falling 8-7, but certainly leaving a respectable impression to spectators, officials, and competitors alike.
WCV Baseball will return all but two players to next year’s roster in 2020.
