A severe thunderstorm blew through much of the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area Wednesday morning as the Raccoon Valley Radio Severe Weather Action Team gave live coverage of the storm.
At about 10:10 a.m. a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for western Guthrie County and northwestern Adair County, and was extended until 11:30 a.m. for central Guthrie County and western Dallas County. Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management Coordinator Bob Kempf reported pea-sized hail and 50-60 mile-per-hour winds between Guthrie Center and Panora. A downed tree was also reported on Southwest 2nd Street south of Highway 44 in Panora. Eight members of the Raccoon Valley Radio Severe Weather Action Team and Weatherology Meteorologists brought live coverage of the storm.
