Greene County High School senior-to-be Carter Morton attended the Snow Valley Basketball Camp in Waverly last week and was named the camp MVP. Morton is a four-sport athlete who plays football, basketball, baseball, and track & field.
The Jefferson resident was asked about the recognition. “It’s an honor. My goal going in this year was to get that award. It’s kind of sad because I really like that camp and would recommend it to a lot of people. It’s not just for anyone either. It’s for people who want to get better and succeed in the game of basketball.”
As a junior, Morton earned second team honors in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference, averaging 15 points per game while leading the 7-16 Rams in rebounds and steals.
He is being recruited on the DI level in track & field as a high jumper after going 6′ 8″ last season. Also a standout football player, he’s gotten some college attention in that sport as well.
