The Adel Public Library is set to wrap up their 2019 “Universe of Stories” summer reading program, with three straight days of finale activities.
The celebration will start on Wednesday, July 24th, as everyone who took part in the program is invited to a “Drum Safari” to the stars. The library will bring some well known drums to show off, as well as a few that look like they could be from another galaxy. Attendees will dance their way through the solar system and find out what makes gravity so “groovy.” The program will start at 10:30 a.m. in the library’s community room. The next day, all tweens and teens who participated in summer reading or volunteered during the program are invited to a movie party. On Thursday, July 25th, the library will supply pizza and pop and host a free showing of “Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 2” on the big screen at 10 a.m.
The finale events will conclude on Friday, July 26th, as the members of the library’s “Top Reader” group will be treated to a pool party at the Adel Family Aquatic Center. Attendees are reminded to bring their invitations that show they’re part of the select company. Each of the finale programs are free to attend and no registration is required.
