The Panorama baseball team advanced to the district semifinal Saturday with a 12-2 home win over ACGC.

The Panthers fell behind 2-0 in the top of the first inning, but responded quickly with nine runs in the bottom half to take control. Three more in the second inning gave them all they needed for a mercy rule win.

Drew Taylor pitched three innings for the Panthers, notching six strikeouts. Brice Taylor then threw two hitless innings in relief with five punch outs. Hunter Holmes led the offense with four runs driven in. Every Panorama hitter reached base at least once.

With the victory the Panthers move one to face Interstate 35 on Tuesday. That game will be played in Van Meter with first pitch scheduled for 5 p.m.
