A Guthrie Center woman mistakenly ran over her child at Springbrook State Park last Friday.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, 33-year-old Alison Herron was sitting in her Chevrolet Silverado at about 6:15 p.m. when she was speaking with her husband and children on a campground access drive. The husband and children were outside of the vehicle, and as Herron proceeded to drive away, one of her children had ran to the other side of the vehicle and Herron drove forward over the child without knowing. The child was transported by a family member to the Guthrie County Hospital where she was alert and stable. The child was later transported to an Omaha hospital. The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office, and Department of Natural Resources Officers assisted at the scene. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
