A Churdan family farm is hosting a field day this evening about their organic farming operation.

George and Patti Naylor are partnering with the Iowa Organic Association for a field day event at their farm from 4-7pm today. Attendees will learn about the organic farming process and policies that are needed for today. There will be other featured speakers on several different topics. The University of Northern Iowa Center for Energy and Environmental Education Director Kamyar Enshayan will talk about the connection between public health and agriculture. Practical Farmers of Iowa Livestock Program Manager Meghan Filbert will discuss the livestock integration process into cropping and grazing management. Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture Director Mark Rasmussen will present information on climate change, hay on farms and how cattle relates to methane emissions.

The program is free to attend. The Naylor farm is located at 288 M Avenue in Churdan.
