Friday, July 5th

9:36am: A Traffic Stop in the 1500 Block of North Elm Street resulted in Janet Sondgeroth of Jefferson being cited for, “Operation without Registration.”

9:55am: The Jefferson Vet Clinic advised an officer of a Dog Bite, which had occurred at 604 West Reed Street. A guest in the residence had awoken the sleeping dog. Being woke up by a stranger, the animal bit his arm. The officer is working with the animal’s owner in a 10 Day Quarantine process at the family’s residence.

10:20am: An officer conducted a Funeral Escort.

10:35am: A Greene County Fair Board Member requested an officer at the Shower/Bath House at the Fairgrounds. A couple had been locked in one restroom for approximately 8 hours. The officer was able to get the couple to unlock the door and speak with him. Robert Kovar and Aimee Alderman were both advised not to return to the property, or face charges for Trespassing.

12:08pm: An officer was requested to assist a Genesis Worker in coaxing a client to ER for a Medication Evaluation.

4:15pm: A Traffic Stop in the 700 Block of North Elm Street resulted in Jessica Lande being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”

6:02pm: Sparky’s One Stop requested assistance at 606 Hwy. 30 East with a subject refusing to leave the business. The subject had left upon the officer’s arrival.

8:44pm: Michael Olson reported his daughter works at Sparky’s One Stop and the male subject was back at the business. The officer arrived and located the male outside in a vehicle. He was told the businesses wishes for him to leave and not return.

8:58pm: Sheryl Reed requested an officer to unlock the Shower/Bath House at the Fairgrounds. The officer does not have a key to the facility, but a County Employee arrived and unlocked the facility for use.

10:03pm: Brandon Gustoff advised of Fireworks being set off in the 600 Block of South Maple Street. The officer did not locate the source of the fireworks.

10:07pm: Another caller advised of Fireworks near the Jefferson Municipal Swimming Pool in the 700 Block of South Maple Street.

10:45pm: Joel Erritt advised of Fireworks in the 800 Block of West Adams Street. The officer spoke to a group in the area and advised them to end the fireworks, since they did not have a Permit to set them off.

Saturday, July 6th

12:04am: The UPRR advised the RR Crossing at North Grimmell Road had a piece of metal sticking up. They advised repair crews were on their way to fix the issue.

1:30am: An anonymous caller advised of a Loud Outside Party occurring in the 100 Block of North Cedar Street. The officer advised the group of the complaint and advised them to wrap up for the evening, or quiet down.

2:55am: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 400 Block of Greenewood Road.

7:49am: A subject brought a male’s wallet to the LEC, which he had found on South Elm Street. the officer was able to return the wallet to the owner.

10:08am: A caller advised of a large rock in the roadway near Elm and Russell. The officer did not locate the reported object.

11:29am: Billie Jo Hovick reported an Occupied Suspicious Vehicle parked in the 500 Block of West Harrison Street. Th officer located the vehicle and spoke to the female driver. She advised she was waiting to meet her grandchildren and did not need assistance.

2:33pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 100 Block of Ram Drive.

6:23pm: Sparky’s One Stop reported two stray dogs at 606 Hwy. 30 East. The owner was present when the officer arrived and advised they had gotten out of a fenced area at his residence, which is out in the county.

6:39pm: Janon Olson reported Fireworks going off near Chestnut and McKinley Streets. The officer did not locate the source.

8:52pm: Josh Turner advised of two dogs running loose in the 800 Block of West Mahlon Street. The officer spoke to the owner, who advised his children had let the animals out. He advised he would remedy the issue.

10:50pm: Gayle Pike advised of Fireworks being set off on South Grimmell Road. Subjects in the area had obtained a Fireworks Permit form the city and were allowed to set them off.

Sunday, July 7th

6:16am: Kathy Dobney reported a suspicious male on a bicycle following her as she walked on East Lincoln Way Street. The officer was not able to locate the reported subject in the area.

11:16am: A Traffic Stop at Lincoln Way and Elm Streets resulted in Danielle Huss of West Des Moines being cited for, “Fail to Obey Stop Sign.”

4:05pm: Mo’s Mart reported a Gas Drive Off from 303 North Elm Street in the amount of $30.00. The clerk provided the officer a plate number and vehicle description. The officer learned the subject was from Boone and requested a Boone Officer to advise him of not paying for his fuel. The male called the store and the debt was paid.

7:50pm: Two callers advised of a male riding a bicycle and knocking on doors offering to paint their house numbers on the curb in front of their residence for a fee. The officer knows the reported subject and is working to locate him about Door to Door Sales without a permit from City Hall.

10:44pm: Jeanie Adams reported an extremely loud vehicle in the 400 Block of North West Street. The officer did not locate the reported vehicle in the area.
