The Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department reminds everyone of its six public parks where families can have some summertime fun.

The six parks are Washington, Head, Kelso, Chautauqua, Daubendiek and Russell parks. Each park has playground equipment and a shelterhouse. JPRD Director Vicky Lautner says there is a $10 rental fee to use any of the shelterhouses. She adds that the city employees Dave Davis and Dave Dewey maintain all of the parks.

“They check the parks daily and they check the shelters daily. If anything is broken they’re responsible to let me know and I’ll order parts and get the equipment replaced. If you’re at the playground and there is something broken please give us a call, because it’s helpful if people report that to us at the rec center.”

Call the Greene County Community Center at 386-3412 to report any park-related issues.
