The City of Casey is “Full Steam Ahead” to their Sesquicentennial Celebration taking place Friday July 12th through Sunday July 14th.

There will be many free events throughout the weekend including a drive-in movie, fireworks, photo contest, historical programs, adult kickball tournament and more. Chairperson Teresa Williams says longtime residents may remember a competition happening Saturday afternoon at Kite Park, “So the skillet toss actually has some history when growing up as a child. It’s an event that they’ve done in Casey many, many times, it just kind of got lost over the years and so we’re bringing it back. So you ladies and gentlemen and kids alike, there will be a skillet toss to see how far you can throw or toss a cast iron skillet.”

Most Sesquicentennial events will be taking place at the Casey Community Building, the Casey Visitor Center, or the Logan Street Stage. Raccoon Valley Radio will also be broadcasting live from the 150th celebration Saturday.
