The Adel Public Library will be hosting an assortment of activities for kids in the community over the next couple weeks, as part of their summer reading program.
Two of the events will feature Chip and Lots o’ Dots from “Pink Stew,” starting with a magic show on Wednesday, July 10th. The show will be held at 11 a.m. in the community room and no registration is required. The second program with Chip and Lots o’ Dots will bring kids into the library’s community room at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 18th to make their own kazoos. The group will then get together for a Kazoo Parade. Preregistration is requested so the library can ensure they have enough materials.
Another pair of events at the Adel Library involve Shari Hudson, owner of Shari’s Artful Expression. Tweens and teens are invited to craft their own journals on Thursday, July 11th, and then create jewelry on the 18th. Both programs will be held at 2 p.m., and registration is required as space is limited. Finally, kids of all ages are invited to a “Wee Watch” program on Wednesday, July 17th at 11 a.m., featuring the film “How to Train Your Dragon: the Hidden World.” The movie is rated PG and has a runtime of 1 hour and 44 minutes. The library will provide popcorn, and attendees can bring their own snacks and drinks.
Each of the programs are free to attend and open to everyone. For more information or to sign up, stop into the library or visit their website, AdelPL.org.
