A Jefferson man was recently sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to a felony charge for theft.
According to court documents, 44-year-old Jody Lyn Schad was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to a Class D Felony for second degree theft. He was given credit for time already served. All other charges, including four counts of burglary and possession of marjiuana, were dismissed. The charge stems from an incident on May 14, 2018. Schad stole several tools from a company in the 400 block of East Central Avenue in Jefferson. A search warrant was then executed at his home where most of the tools were recovered, along with drug-related items.
The sentence is to run concurrently with two-year prison sentences for unrelated cases of an aggravated misdemeanor for operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent and a probation revocation for driving while barred in Greene County, along with a Dallas County incident for third degree theft.
