Southeast Valley (Gowrie) was a 5-2 non-conference baseball winner  in Dayton over Greene County on Monday night. The Rams fell to 8-17 while the Jaguars improved to 11-10.

Greene County scored both its runs in the first inning while SEV had single runs in the first, third, and fifth innings, and two in the sixth. The Rams had four hits, four errors, and left nine on base with the Jaguars collecting five hits and one error while leaving four on base.

Nick Breon hit a two-run homer for the Rams’ runs. The round-tripper was the first of the season for a Greene County player. Tyler Teeples singled and was on base for the Breon homer. Breton also stole a base.

Teeples was the starting and losing pitcher. He went the first five innings and allowed all five runs, three earned, on five hits and three walks to go with eight strikeouts. David Richter pitched the sixth inning.

The Rams play at Denison tonight vs. Denison-Schleswig. The action was listed on several schedules as being in Jefferson, but it’s a non-conference road game for the Rams.
