The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.

During open forum, County Attorney Thomas Laehn addressed the Board. He presented a draft for displays of public art on the courthouse grounds. He said he was going to meet with Jefferson Matters: Main Street Tower View Team, prior to the Board considering to approve it at the July 16th meeting. Laehn also welcomes public feedback at that meeting. A link to the policy draft can be found below.

The Board then approved the June 30th cash count as presented, a resolution authorizing the County Sheriff’s office to charge $25 for fingerprint services for employment opportunities, the 2020 fiscal year salary and benefit schedule for county employees and a substance abuse prevention services agreement with New Opportunities as presented. Additionally, the Board canvassed the votes from last week’s special Jefferson City Council election. There were no changes to the unofficial results and so Darren Jackson is the official winner of the election and will serve on the council through 2021.

The Board then heard a Bell Tower Festival update from 2019 Chair Pete Russell. She said they reached their goal of having $10,000 from the proceeds of this year’s festival that will be used for next year’s festival. Annie Ostendorf is the chair for the 2020 festival.
