A Panorama Elementary teacher recently received a matching donation for a self-regulation and sensory space project.

The Sonic Drive-In restaurant chain gave a $650 grant to Jessica Diltz as part of their Limeades for Learning initiative in partnership with the non-profit organization DonorsChoose.org. This donation will go towards furniture and other materials for a “sensory room.” This space would allow students to relieve stress caused by difficulties with sensory processing skills such as tolerating sounds, bright lights, or traffic in hallways. Diltz hopes to have this room ready for the next school year for those students who need help to maintain focus throughout the school day.
