Another candidate for President of the United States will be paying a visit to Dallas County this week, as former Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper is set to visit Perry.

Hickenlooper, fresh off his appearance in the recent Democratic candidate debates, will be welcomed by the Perry Area Democrats to Hotel Pattee on Sunday, July 7th at 6:30 p.m. This is the Governor’s first trip to Dallas County since declaring his intention to seek the Democratic nomination for the office of President in the 2020 primary election. The meet and greet event is free and open to the public, and no registration is required.

Hickenlooper will be the 10th Presidential candidate to visit Dallas County this year, and the second in a week with Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar having visited Adel Monday evening. He’s one of 24 individuals vying for the Democratic nomination, with the first big step being the 2020 Iowa Caucuses. Other candidates who have already visited include: former Texas Congressman Beto O’Rourke, Southbend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttegieg, and Klobuchar, who each visited Adel; former Maryland Congressman John Delaney, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, and Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, who stopped in Perry; Hawaii Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard and California Businessman Andrew Yang, who attended the Dallas County Democrats annual fundraiser in Adel; and New Jersey Senator Cory Booker, who visited Waukee.
