A single-vehicle rollover wreck near Perry that occurred midday Monday sent two individuals to the hospital.

At around 11:50 a.m., an SUV left the roadway while travelling eastbound on Highway 141 near the KDLS studio. It came to rest upside-down in the south ditch of the highway. The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the wreck, though it appeared the driver lost control possibly due to a blown tire. Two individuals were extracted from the driver’s side door of the vehicle. The driver of the SUV was removed from the crash on a stretcher, though the individual was alert at the time. The passenger was able to walk away after being helped from the vehicle. The driver was transported by Dallas County Emergency Medical Services to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines with potentially serious injuries, while the passenger was taken to Dallas County Hospital with suspected minor injuries.

The Perry Police Department and Perry Fire Department also assisted at the scene. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
