The Guthrie Center City Council met in regular session Monday.
The meeting began with the Council approving a resolution for the destruction of certain records. Next, they signed grant and administration contracts for the City’s clear well water system improvement project. Simmering-Cory Incorporated of Clear Lake was approved last fall to administer the grant. The Iowa Economic Development Authority announced last week the City received a $500,000 Community Development Block Grant for the project. The City is now awaiting the Iowa Department of Natural Resource’s final approval on plans, and they expect to award a bid this November, with anticipated completion in October of 2020. Finally, no action was taken regarding the Presha Exline property at 806 North Street, pending consultation with the City Attorney.
