A reminder that tomorrow is your chance to meet the head coach of the 2019 National Basketball Association Champion Toronto Raptors.

The “Nick Nurse’s Journey from Carroll to Toronto” event is in celebration of Carroll native and the head coach of the Raptors, Nick Nurse. His team defeated the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals to win the franchise’s first NBA title. 

There will be several speakers during the free program that starts at 6pm. Governor Kim Reynolds will present a proclamation and the “Voice of the Hawkeyes” Gary Dolphin will be the emcee. Other speakers include: Iowa Energy Founder Jerry Crawford, Carroll Kuemper High School Coach Wayne Chandlee, Nurse’s high school teammate and friend Frank Molak, ESPN Basketball Analyst Kevin Lehman, sports writer and college roommate Mike Finger, coaching colleague Steve Forbes, friend and fellow coach Orv Salmon, and University of Iowa standout Bobby Hansen.

It will be held at the Wild Rose Greene Room events center in Jefferson. Doors open at 5pm and the program starts at 6pm. No pre-registration is necessary.
