The ACGC baseball team notched its second victory of the season Thursday as they split a doubleheader with Woodward Academy, losing the first game 2-1 and winning the second 7-4.
Game one was a pitcher’s duel with Clayton Wardyn pitching six strong innings for the Chargers, allowing just one run on nine hits and three walks while striking out six. Unfortunately they were only able to muster four hits of their own.
ACGC started slow in the second game, falling behind 2-0 after two innings, but managed to get back on track to pull out the win. Bryce Littler led the way with three hits, two doubles and two runs scored. Everybody in the Charger lineup reached base at least once in the second game as they were able to get the job done.
The Chargers will be back in Woodward on Tuesday as they visit Woodward-Granger.
