Almost two years after Main Street Guthrie Center purchased the Williams Building in downtown Guthrie Center, a third business will soon open in the renovated main floor.

Pearls & Lace Country Boutique is moving from its current location east of South 5th Street on State Street west to the middle retail space between Central Iowa Family EyeCare and Genesis Development. In the past year the facade has been renovated to a traditional glass storefront, and for the last few months Main Street Guthrie Center volunteers have been renovating the interior. An event was recently held to thank all of the organization’s volunteers, including those who have worked on this project. Main Street Guthrie Center Director Dana Buster mentions they held the social in the revamped space, “We’ve had lots and lots of volunteers that have come up and helped with that including students from the high school, and the high school shop teacher, and different community members come up and help us with that project, but we do want to recognize Randy Nickel and Steve Lee for all of their organizational work and they’re up there every day kind of working on that space.”

Pearls & Lace will host a grand re-opening event on July 13th, but volunteer help is needed for the move. More information can be found here. To hear the latest on Main Street Guthrie Center, listen to today’s Let’s Talk Guthrie County program on air and at raccoonvalleyradio.com.
