Guthrie County 4-H members planning on competing in the Iowa State Fair are reminded of approaching deadlines and related events.
Several state fair submissions are due this Monday, July 1st: Static, Communications and Clothing Exhibits, and livestock. Those who showed supreme champions in the breeding or market divisions of the beef, goat, sheep, and swine shows at last year’s Guthrie County Fair are also eligible to compete at the Guthrie County Showdown on Saturday July 20, at 10 a.m. at the fairgrounds showring. Participants who compete at this event may qualify for the Des Moines Area Community College Beardown on July 27th in Nevada, and can then advance to the All-Iowa Showdown on August 4th in Britt.
