The Perry City Council will convene Friday morning for their annual fiscal year-end meeting.
The meeting will start with a pair of public hearings regarding separate rezone requests. Later in the meeting, the Council will consider ordinances regarding the proposed rezoning. In old business, there will be discussion and possible action regarding a pay request from Jensen Builders for work completed on the hangar project at the Perry Municipal Airport. New business will begin with approval of an application from T.C. and B. Corporation to the Iowa Economic Development Authority’s High Quality Jobs program for their operations that will be moving into the spec building at the Perry Industrial Complex. The Council will then consider approving two additional firefighters for the volunteer fire department, as well as revisions to planning and zoning forms.
Much of the meeting will focus on financial transfers, including: from the emergency levy to the general fund; the local option sales tax to debt service fund; a transfer to reduce the deficit in the Carnegie Library and Town/Craft Building funds; and closing the North Street, 2017 sanitary sewer, and soccer complex project funds. Finally, the Council will hold the second reading of an ordinance amending the permitted uses of an arterial commercial district for bulk regulations. The meeting will be held at 8 a.m. Friday in the Clarion Room at Perry City Hall. As a reminder, there will be no regular session of the Perry City Council this coming Monday.
