The new head football coach for the Greene County Rams is Caden Duncan.  He’ll also teach middle school physical education and he’ll coordinate the strength and conditioning program in the district for girls and boys on all grade levels.

Originally from Gowrie, he’s been an assistant coach at Panorama High School in Panora the previous three seasons, and is now conducting morning workouts for football players, but also strength and conditioning workouts for all athletes, male and female. The coach talks about the Summer schedule. “On Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, our football guys are coming in at six o’clock. They’re there a little bit before that. We’re getting them ready physically for football activities. We’re installing our schemes, offensively and defensively, for about an hour from six to seven. When we’re done with that we go into the weight room and work on strength and conditioning for about an hour.”

The gears switch a bit at 9 a.m. and the coach explains. “At nine o’clock it is open for everybody. All other sports can come in and take part in our strength and conditioning activities in the weight room. Both of those are going really well so far. We keep gaining numbers each day, so hopefully we can keep building on that.” The coach said nearly 50 football players have been showing up regularly with another 20-25 athletes in other sports.
