Today is the special election day to fill a vacancy on the Jefferson City Council.
There are four candidates running for the seat. The candidates are Amelia Carman, Michael Mentzer, Darren Jackson and Mark Wright. Polls are open from 7am-8pm at three locations. The first precinct location is the south rotunda of the Greene County Courthouse. Those in the second precinct are to vote at Trinity Lutheran Church. The third precinct polling location is the Greene County Community Center.
It is an at-large seat, which Jackson was appointed to earlier this year, but a petition was submitted to hold a special election. Raccoon Valley Radio will have election results tonight and tomorrow. Whoever is elected will serve the remainder of the term through 2021.
