In case you forgot, today is Election Day for residents in the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District, to vote on the proposed $15.75 million bond referendum.
The polls are open between 7 a.m. – 8 p.m., with Adel residents voting at the public library, and citizens of Minburn and DeSoto voting at their city’s respective United Methodist Church. Voters are reminded to bring a photo identification with them, and if you need to register at the polls you will also have to bring proof of residence, such as a utility bill. ADM Superintendent Greg Dufoe says if passed, the general obligation bonds will go towards a new elementary building in Adel, which would house grades 2-4. The purpose of building a new school is to address the District’s rapid enrollment growth, and the project came about after nearly a year of public input and a facilities master planning committee.
Listen tonight for results of the ADM special election once the polls close, including reaction from Dufoe on the passage or failure of the bond referendum. Results will also be posted online at RaccoonValleyRadio.com and on our Facebook page, and you can hear a full recap of the election on air tomorrow.
