The Dallas County Hospital Foundation is getting set to host their first fundraiser for the next wave of scholarship awards, and they’re bringing back a popular activity from the past.

On Saturday, July 13th, the Foundation invites the public to take part in “Bowl-A-Palooza.” The bowling event will be held at Warrior Lanes in Waukee, and participating bowlers can join one of two shifts. The first runs from 12:30-2:30 p.m., and the second from 3-5. The cost to join is $10 per person, and it includes a free large pizza and pitcher of pop for each lane. Space is limited so potential bowlers are encouraged to sign up soon. Payment must be made at the time you register, in order to hold your place in the event.

All proceeds from “Bowl-A-Palooza” will benefit the Dallas County Hospital Foundation’s scholarship program, which gives money to students in the County interested in pursuing careers in healthcare. This past year, the Foundation awarded $8,250 to 10 individuals. Foundation Manager Matt Crooks said they held bowling fundraisers for several years in the past, but got away from it at some point. However, he felt it was something worth resurrecting as they continue to seek new avenues for funding. For more information or to sign up for “Bowl-A-Palooza,” contact Crooks at 515-465-7563.
