The City of Stuart would like residents to offer their unwanted belongings and helping hands next weekend.

The City is hosting a summer clean-up on Friday, June 28th and Saturday the 29th from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Stuart Street Maintenance Yard located at 220 South Fremont Street. Residents are allowed to drop off two free loads of waste, and acceptable items include furniture, batteries, trash, and metal. Unacceptable items include tires, paint, televisions, propane tanks, appliances, and hazardous waste. The City will provide two dumpsters for trash and one dumpster for metal, and those who are physically unable or don’t have a mode of transportation can arrange to have their items picked up.

The City is asking for community members’ help to make this a successful effort to spruce up Stuart before RAGBRAI (Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa) comes through town on July 22. If you would like to volunteer or need to arrange a pickup, call Bob Cook at 515-480-2589.
